Músicas bobas / Silly songs

Nesse último mês se ouviu falar muito dos Beatles, o que não é ruim, porque sempre vale a pena ouvir de novo. Foi isso que fiz, reouvi o albúm branco, Abbey Road e outros. Eu nunca tinha me dado conta do número enorme de músicas bobas que eles gravaram. Músicas leves, e principalmente sem pretensão. Ninguém nunca fez tantas músicas boas e bobas. E fiquei pensando sobre isso.

Enquanto isso, um amigo meu me chamou para ver um show no Circo Voador do Sebastien Tellier, da turma do Air e outros eletrônicos franceses. Eu acabei não indo pro show mas baixei dois CDs do cara para conhecer. O albúm "Sexuality" tem algumas faixas incríveis, meio retrô e eletrônico, que fazem pensar em praia abandonada dos Estados Unidos nos anos 80. Bem leve e irônico. Gostei muito.

Além disso, eu ouvi o novo CD Muse. Que inclui, uma reprise de Chopin (uma das mais famosas, linda e brega) e um final com três faixas sob o nome de "Symphony Exogenesis" (se não me engano). Isso sim é pretensão. Parece que a banda quer voar até a lua sobre cavalos brancos supersônicos, não sei, é muito exagero.

Tudo isso pra dizer que quero tentar gravar música boba. A tendência que tenho é fazer melancolia e estou me forçando esses dias a produzir canções leves e sem pretensão. E isso está sendo interessante.

Last month we heard a lot about The Beatles, not a bad thing, it's always a pleasure to listen to the classics again. That's what I did, listened to Abbey Road, the white album etc... It reminded me the great number of silly songs that they recorded. Light songs with no pretension. None band have ever recorded so much silly but good songs. For a few days I had this thought on my mind.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine invited me to see a live concert of Sebatien Tellier, an electronic french musician with some things in common with Air and the french touch. Eventually I didn't get to the show, but I downloaded his album "Sexuality". It has some incredible tracks, kind of retro-eletro music. Made me imagine a lonely beach in the 80's U.S. A light record and kind of ironic too when it talks about girls, sex and beach coasts. I'm really enjoying this album.

Along with that, I listened to Muse's new album. Wich features a Chopin's piece (one of the most famous themes, beautiful but still, corny) and a tree tracks long end by the name of "Symphony: exogenesis" (something like that). That's what I call being pretentious. I mean, I did enjoyed the album but it sounds like they wanna fly to the moon on hypersonic white horses, that's really too much.

I'm writing all this just to say that I want to record silly songs. At least try it. I always lean to the melancholic side and I'm pushing myself to write light and unpretentious music. I find it quite interesting.
