Quase lá / Almost there

Depois de mais de seis meses modificando um primeiro rascunho, estou finalmente terminando minha próxima música. Mudei letra, melodia e arranjo várias vezes, tanto que a versão final que devo concluir em uma ou duas semanas (assim espero!) não tem nada a ver com a minha ideia inicial, na verdade nem sei se me lembro qual era minha ideia inicial.

Talvez por causa das distrações que foram minhas férias em novembro (uma bela viagem pela América do Sul) e os horários apertados entre trabalho e estudos à noite: essa música está sendo interminável.

Às vezes se tem sorte, quando o primeiro esboço arranhado no violão, já dita a versão acabada. Outras vezes a música escapa, e se transforma à medida que é elaborada. E então tudo se complica: se uma única nota do verso muda, o acorde seguinte pede para ser alterado também, provoca os instrumentos em sua volta. Quando se chega no último refrão, todas essas mudanças já não se encaixam e há de voltar aos primeiros instantes para consertar tudo. Acertar o espaço de cada instrumento.

E o tempo vai passando, passando, e nunca se termina nada.

O título provisório é "Inconsciente" e enquanto não apresento a versão final deixarei no post seguinte duas versões da letra (português e francês) e uma prévia do arranjo básico. Garanto que a letra ficará mais interessante quando cantada.

After more than six months distorting my first draft, I'm finally about to finish my next song. I changed the lyrics, melody and arrangements several times so the song will be nothing like I've planned it.

Maybe because of all the distractions around me in that period: a terrific South America trip in november and tighted schedules between work and night studies. This song has been endless.

Sometimes one gets lucky, when the first sketch played with the guitar, dictates the final version of the song. Other times the music drift away, while it's been created. And then everything gets complicated: if a single note in the verse change, the next chord starts begging to get modified, instigating all the instruments around it. In the last chorus all this modifications dont't fit together anymore and one must get back to the very beginnning to fix everything, adjust each instrument space to loose or tight the structure of the song.

And times goes by as the song never ends.

The temporary title is "Inconsciente" (Unconscious), and until I don't have it finished i'll let you know the lyrics (portuguese and french) and an early arrangement in the next post.
